Council’s Economic Development Unit are here to assist business owners and those planning to go into business, with information, skills and networking to help you build or manage your business.

| Councils Economic Development team can help you navigate through the requirements of Local and State Government when starting up or expanding a business.
First and foremost, we can assist new business to work through the planning processes for establishing a new business, or for taking over an existing business. This includes assistance with understanding the Planning Application process and other requirements such as Environmental Health legislation.
Councils Economic Development Team can also help with:
• Identifying business opportunities
• Encouraging new investment
• Assessing land availability
• Assisting expansion of existing businesses
• Seeking external grant funding
• Liaising with Regional, State and Federal Government
• Networking opportunities with other local businesses and
• Cluster groups
• Skill development workshops
We’re keen to pursue opportunities for growth which involve increasing employment opportunities for local residents and our young people.
The Economic Devleopment Team runs a series of business workshops, which take place throughout the year.
