Nominations are now open for the 2027 South Gippsland Australia Day Awards.
In 2027, there are three award categories:
- Citizen of the Year.
- Young Citizen of the Year.
- Community Event of the Year.
Nominees will be recognised at an Awards Ceremony to be held on Wednesday 13 January (6.30pm) at the Meeniyan Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend and there will be a light supper provided.
The achievements of each nominee will be also be featured in local newspapers, on Council's Facebook page and online. The names of the overall winner in each category will also be inscribed on the Australia Day Honour Board in Memorial Hall.
Nominations close Wednesday 4 November 2026.
