Foster Streetscape Project

Foster

The Foster Streetscape Project provides streetscape upgrades for improved parking and drainage, heavy vehicle diversion, visual features and street appeal.

The $1.4M project (including the laneway upgrades) was made possible by a $900,000 Council contribution and $500,000 State Government contribution.

The streetscape will make the environment pedestrian friendly by slowing traffic down and providing more opportunities to cross Main Street.

Weekly Update - 20 October 2017

ADA Construction Services will be undertaking the following works this week:

  • Road works will be starting as of Sunday night 22 October. ADA Constructions will have a night crew and a day crew working from Sunday 22 through to Friday 27 October. Main Street, Foster will be closed between Station Street and McDonald Street from 6.00pm to 6.00am during this time. Alternative routes will be required.
  • We are hoping the base of the road will be completed by Friday 27 October if all goes to plan. Asphalt is booked in for the 13 November and is anticipated that it will be completed by Friday 17 November. Linemarking will follow asphalt works.

We appreciate everyone's patience during the works however please remember to use the designated access points along the length of the works to ensure your own safety. Extra pedestrian access points will be created through the barricades as areas become safe to use.

As a courtesy to traffic controllers and for the safety of everyone involved, we ask motorists to use their indicators indicating their intentions as to where they are going.

The V/Line bus stop in Main Street near the car park rotunda has been relocated approximately 50 metres further north along Main Street towards the Library. The relocation is temporary but will be for the duration of the Streetscape Project.

Keep an eye on this webpage and Council's Facebook page for weekly updates of works to be completed and their impacts.
