- Foster Streetscape Project
Foster Streetscape Project
The Foster Streetscape Project provides streetscape upgrades for improved parking and drainage, heavy vehicle diversion, visual features and street appeal.
The $1.4M project (including the laneway upgrades) was made possible by a $900,000 Council contribution and $500,000 State Government contribution.
The streetscape will make the environment pedestrian friendly by slowing traffic down and providing more opportunities to cross Main Street.
Weekly Update - Commencing 27 March 2017
The Foster Streetscape is progressing well. Footpath and kerb & channel works at the northern end of Main Street, adjacent to Pearl Park, will be completed next week (weather permitting). Our contractor, ADA, will be looking to remove existing footpath and kerb & channel late next week from the Dentist to the Post Office (corner of Bridge Street). ADA staff will speak to individual shopkeepers between the Dentist and Post Office regarding their specific requirements during this time.
As a courtesy to traffic controllers and for the safety of everyone involved, we ask motorists to use their indicators indicating their intentions as to where they are going.
The V/Line bus stop in Main Street near the car park rotunda will be relocated from 17 March to approximately 50 metres further north along Main Street towards the Library. The relocation is temporary but will be for the duration of the Streetscape Project.
Keep an eye on this webpage and Council's Facebook page for weekly updates of works to be completed and their impacts.
