Council has announced the successful applicants for Round 2 of the community Grants.
Seven community groups shared $15,800 to support events planned in the next six months |

South Gippsland Aquatic Strategy on Public Exhibition

Council invites written submissions in response to the recommendations outlined in the Aquatic Strategy which reports on the operations and condition of Council’s five outdoor aquatic facilities.
Submissions should be received at Council by noon on Thurs 24 December 2009 |

Chemical Collection Day Sat 5 December 8am -11am!

Detox your home by taking household chemicals to Council's Depot at 80 Yarragon Rd Leongatha between 8.00am and 11.00 am on Saturday 5th December.
Check under your sink, in the garage, medicine cabinet and laundry to clear old and dangerous materials.
This a free Council service to keep you and our environment safe . |

Extra time to tip in preparation for fire season!

Council will extend the opening times of all Transfer Stations on the weekends of 5th & 6th and 12th & 13th December to assist residents to dispose of green waste in preparation for the fire season. Green waste is accepted free of charge. |

New CEO Tim settles in smoothly

It's been a flying start for incoming CEO Tim Tamlin who commenced at Council on 4th November.
Tim's first day involved a Council Meeting and he has visited staff at Leongatha and Foster Depots and Coal Creek to introduce himself and explore the issues first hand.
Keen to create positive outcomes for this dynamic region, Tim looks forward to meeting members of the community over the next few months.

In May 2009 the Minister for Planning brought new provisions into the South Gippsland Planning Scheme that relate to land within the Farming Zone, known as Amendment C48.
