Southern Leongatha Outline Development Plan
Council has prepared the Southern Leongatha Outline Development Plan (ODP) to guide the integrated development of the Southern Leongatha area over the next twenty years and beyond.
A ‘Transport and Traffic Impact Assessment Report’ was undertaken to inform the development of the ODP. The Report discusses the options to extend Parr Street to the Bass Highway and to close Simons Lane to through traffic. The key recommendations from the report were integrated into the final version of the ODP.
The Southern Leongatha Outline Development Plan was initially adopted by Council on 24 August 2011. It was implemented into the Planning Scheme by Planning Scheme Amendment C76. An Independent Planning Panel considered the public submissions to the Amendment. Council adopted the updated ODP (see below) in accordance with the Panel's recommendations in February 2013.
