Notice of Preparation of an Amendment C110

Council has prepared Amendment C110 to the South Gippsland Planning Scheme.

The land affected by the amendment is in the town centre of Nyora, bound by Henley, Mitchell, Davis and Hewson Streets and including the Commercial 1 Zone land east of Davis Street.

The amendment proposes to rezone 2-12 Hewson Street and 29-31 Davis Street, Nyora from the General Residential Zone Schedule 1 to the Commercial 1 Zone; introduce and apply Design and Development Overlay Schedule 12 to the Commercial 1 Zone and Public Use Zone land in the town centre; update Clause 21.15-5 Nyora to introduce new strategies for the town centre; and update Clause 21.16 Reference document to include the Nyora Development Strategy (2016).

You may inspect the amendment, any documents that support the amendment and the explanatory report about the amendment, free of charge, at the following locations:

  • During office hours at South Gippsland Shire Council, 9 Smith Street, Leongatha.
  • On Council’s website - see ‘Documents on public exhibition’.

At the Nyora Post Office, 21 Mitchell Street, Nyora.

Any person who may be affected by the amendment may make a submission to Council about the amendment. Submissions must be made in writing giving the submitter’s name and contact address, clearly stating the grounds on which the amendment is supported or opposed and indicating what changes (if any) the submitter wishes to make.

Name and contact details of submitters are required for Council to consider submissions and to notify such persons of the opportunity to attend Council meetings and any public hearing held to consider submissions. The closing date for submissions is Wednesday 1 March 2017. A submission must be sent to Senior Strategic Planner, Chantal Lenthall, South Gippsland Shire Council, Private Bag 4, Leongatha VIC 3953.

Council must make a copy of every submission available at its office for any person to inspect free of charge for two months after the amendment comes into operation or lapses.
