Fire Services Levy Exemption

From 1 July 2013, the Victorian Government replaced the insurance-based fire services levy, as recommended by the Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission.  Rather than contributing through insurance premiums, a property-based levy is now collected with your Council rates.

Where multiple parcels of farm land are used to operate a single farming enterprise, a person may only be required to pay the Fire Services Fixed Levy once by applying for the FSL Single Farming Enterprise Exemption.

Applicants for the exemption are required to complete and sign the form and return to Council for assessment in accordance with the Fire Services Property Levy Act 2012.
