Korumburra Revitalisation Project

Korumburra Revitalisation Project

The Korumburra Revitalisation Project is a Council initiative to guide land use and development in the Korumburra Town Centre in coming years. The Project buildings on the recommendations of the recently completed Korumburra Town Centre Framework Plan (KTCFP) and other strategic work. The main elements of the Project are to:

  • Identify where the new Korumburra Community Hub should be located
  • Consider how the railway yards might be used and developed while allowing for the potential long term return of rail services
  • How the key recommendations of the KTCFP can be implemented and the streetscape works funded and developed.

Korumburra Community Hub

The first stage of the Korumburra Revitalisation Project is to identify what uses could be placed into the new Korumburra Community Hub and where it should be located. The Hub could be the new home for the Korumburra Library, Milpara Community House and a range of other community uses. Three potential Hub locations have been identified.

Council is aware that a range of views exist in the community regarding what uses the Hub should contain and where it should be located. To assist in understand the key issues, Council has prepared a Discussion Paper to inform public comment. Where the Hub is located and what it contains will have ongoing effects on how the town centre operates for many years to come. It is important that Council choose the preferred location in collaboration with the community.
