Community Services: Provision of meals (MOW) and showers for Community Home Support clients will continue as usual. Please notify Council if you have visitors during this period who can assist you and therefore you will not require these services so that we can notify staff and volunteers. All MCH Centres are open but limited to Key Ages and Stages (KAS) checks. Appointments required. For support, call 13 22 29. If you or your child is unwell, seek advice from your GP or nearest hospital emergency unit. Council and community playgroups do not run during school holidays. Waste Management: There will be no kerbside garbage, recycling and green waste collections conducted on Christmas Day. Properties scheduled to have their kerbside waste bins collected on Monday 25 December will be collected on Tuesday 26 December. This affects properties in Buffalo, Fish Creek, Pound Creek, Sandy Point, Stony Creek, Tarwin Lower, Venus Bay, Waratah Bay, Walkerville and Yanakie.
For properties in Sandy Point, Waratah Bay and Venus Bay recycling will be collected weekly from the collection on 26 December until the end of January.
Transfer stations and the Koonwarra Landfill will be closed on Christmas Day. Opening hours displayed at sites and on www.southgippsland.vic.gov.au.
