Changes to Community and Home Care Services

HACC Published Thursday, 29th March 2018

Update on the provision of Community and Home Care Services.

At the Council Meeting on the 28 March 2018 Council made the decision to:

Withdraw from the provision of Community and Home Care Services from 1 October 2018 with the proviso that a suitable alternative service provider is able to continue to provide the service.

This means that Community and Home Care services will continue as normal at least until the 1 October 2018 and until such time as a new suitable provider is found. When a new provider is identified we will work with them to ensure the smooth transition of the service while retaining the high quality of the service. It is hoped that existing staff members may be retained by the new provider to help keep local people employed locally.

While we do not have a new suitable provider confirmed at this stage we will ensure that all community concerns are considered when discussions are held. High quality care at the same level for an affordable price is a priority for Council just as much as for our clients and the community.

We expect that at this time clients will likely have further questions regarding the service and how these incoming changes may impact them. Please do not hesitate to contact us on 5662 9200 should you have any questions, feedback or would like to discuss your situation and these pending changes further.
