| Cr Lewis is a qualified engineer with over thirty years in business and nine years in Council.
His focus is to improve the cost efficiency of running the Shire, to keep rates down and provide money for improvements to roads and other essential services.
David has a keen interest in attracting more people to live in the Shire, believing that more businesses and jobs will follow. He supports rural landowners facing unfair planning restrictions that work to prevent them building a house on their own land.
Cr Lewis opposes the cost shifting and the over regulation imposed on Local Government by the State and Federal Government, which is a major factor in the escalating rates burden.
A member of the local CFA and several community groups, David lives on a farm at Hallston with his wife Marilyn.
