Volunteering with Council - Community Transport

What is involved

Volunteers safely transport community members to appointments, this involves;

  • Assist passengers with seating and seatbelts
  • Helping passengers enter and exit vehicles
  • Maintaining accurate vehicle logs
  • Be willing to undertake a driver assessment
  • Be willing to attend meetings as required
  • Be reliable, trustworthy and of good character
  • Respect the confidence and privacy of passengers
  • Comply with road laws and report any vehicle damageĀ 
Training or licences required Full Victorian Licence with no restrictions and five years driving experience.
Duration and frequency We will discuss your availability with you and frame our rosters accordingly.
Reference checks Many Council volunteers and staff are required to have a National Police Records Check and where applicable a Working with Children Check. Once you complete a permission form we will arrange for the check to be completed, at our cost.
