Volunteering with Council - Meals on Wheels

What is involved

You would support the provision of meals on wheels by;

  • Collecting meals from either the hospital or meal providers
  • Delivering meals to residents
  • Returning containers to the meal provider
  • Abiding by Council policies¬†
Training or licences required You need to have a full Victorian Licence with no restrictions.
Duration and frequency We will discuss your availability with you and frame our rosters accordingly. We reccomend that you have a 'buddy' to assist in the delivery of meals, we can assist you if you dont have a 'buddy'. Meals are ready to deliver Monday to Friday at the relevant centre by 11.30am. Deliveries are completed by 1pm.
Reference checks Many Council volunteers and staff are required to have a National Police Records Check and where applicable a Working with Children Check. Once you complete a permission form we will arrange for the check to be completed, at our cost.
