Adaptable Communities Training

Volunteering Published Friday, 19th March 2021

We are encouraging all community members, volunteers and staff from community organisations and groups in South Gippsland to attend one or more of our free Adaptable Communities Training workshops.

They have been designed to help community organisations recover from the challenges of 2020.

A series of four Adaptable Communities workshops will run across 2021 providing organisations with the tools and insights to:

  • Help them explore what's next in 2021
  • Re-engage with supporters or members
  • Plan projects
  • Source funding they need to make their projects happen

Next Steps - Adapting to New Challenges and Opportunities

  • Thursday April 22
  • 5.30pm - 8.30pm
  • Council Chambers, Leongatha

This session will provide you with the tools for mapping out a plan to engage and motivate your committee, members and volunteers now and in the foreseeable future. It will help you to review your current services and decide which of them you might want to reinvent, let go of, or increase to meet the needs of your community or clients moving through 2021.

Grant Writing - Are You Grant Ready?

  • Tuesday May 18
  • 5.30pm - 8.30pm
  • Council Chambers, Leongatha

There are many grants available to non-profit organisations. With the majority of the workforce being volunteers with limited time to dedicate to applying for grants, how do you decide which ones are best and where you should invest your precious time? Most funders have different requirements and application procedures too, which makes it even more difficult to just slap something together.

This session will teach you how to set up a framework that will make applying for any grant efficient and effective and so much more.

We also strongly encourage all volunteer-based community organisations to contribute their ideas for the next two workshops that will be held later in the year by completing a short survey.
