16 Days of Activism 2026
Growing Respect Together
South Gippsland Shire Council is inviting the community to come together this November and December as part of the annual 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, a movement calling for action to prevent gender and family violence and promote respect, equality and safety for all.
25 November-1 December: Growing Respect Together
A community-wide initiative encouraging schools, community groups and organisations to create orange flowers for display throughout South Gippsland during the campaign period.
We invite community members, schools, workplaces and organisations to create an orange flower as a symbol of respect. Display your flower in your own space or return it to Council to help build a community-wide display that demonstrates our shared commitment to preventing family violence and growing respect together.

12.30pm Wednesday 25 November: Growing Respect Together – Walk Against Family Violence
Delivered in partnership with local secondary schools, the walk will end at Leongatha Railway Precinct.
