Council understands that the community would like to help out their fellow Gippslanders in their time of need. Relief centres are currently overwhelmed by material donations, diverting resources away from critical tasks. The best way people can help impacted communities at this time is through financial donations.
Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund: The Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund provides immediate short-term funds to Gippslanders affected by natural disaster events. Run by volunteers, all donations are returned to the community. Those wishing to make a donation can do so online or at any NAB Branch.
Victorian Bushfire Appeal: The Victorian Government launched a new fund in partnership with the Bendigo Bank Community Enterprise Foundation and Salvation Army, dedicated to helping Victorians impacted by the recent bushfires. Donations can be made at any Bendigo Bank branch or online.
Note: Consumer Affairs Victoria have reported fake fundraisers are doorknocking in Gippsland communities. Ensure who you are donating to is a registered charity.
