What is involved

VOLUNTEER ROLE
Cultural Collections Care. 

 

DESCRIPTION 

Work with the South Gippsland Shire Council (SGSC) and Coal Creek Community Park and Museum’s team in the care of our collection and buildings.

 

LOCATION

Coal Creek Community Park and Museum

12 Silkstone Road, Korumburra

 

SUPERVISION

The role reports to the Cultural Collections Management (CCM) Office.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OR TASKS

  • Cleaning of specified museum collection items
  • Cleaning of museum buildings
  • Act with a Duty of Care for yourself and others at all times
  • Maintain professional behaviour in the course of the role in accordance with the SGSC Code of Conduct

 

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Conservation or cultural collection object handling skills preferred but not essential.
  • Computer skills associated with requirements of role
  • Record keeping
  • Communication
  • Commitment to safe working procedures
  • Ability to work independently

 

TIME COMMITMENTS 

Flexible hours as agreed with the CCM Officer.
