Kindergarten FAQs - What are the changes to 4 year old kindergarten?

From 2027, children will be able to attend more hours of Four-Year-Old Kindergarten. The kindergarten program itself isn't changing, it will continue to provide a play-based learning environment that supports children's learning, development and school readiness. The difference is that children will have access to more funded kindergarten hours each week. Kindergartens in South Gippsland Shire, will offer between 16 and 20 hours per week. The number of hours available will vary between kindergartens depending on educator availability and the capacity of each service.
