Waste and Recycling FAQs - Can I change my kerbside collection service?

You cannot choose different collection frequencies or remove parts of the standard service, such as having a weekly collection or only a General Waste bin.

However, you can add to the standard service for the additional costs shown here. For example, you can upsize your General Waste bin to 240L or add another FOGO bin. Your Kerbside Waste Charge (itemised on your Rates Notice) will be adjusted accordingly on a pro rata basis from when the increased service commences. The same will happen if you cancel your bigger/additional bins. Renters must make their request via the property owner.

Non-residential

Commercial and other non-residential properties can elect for a recycling-only collection instead of the standard service.

Non-residential properties can opt in or out of the kerbside waste service or the recycling-only service at any time.

Rural properties

Rural properties outside of Council’s designated township areas (for the purposes of waste collection) are non-compulsory customers and can opt in or out of the kerbside waste service at any time.
