Falls Road – from the Great Southern Rail Trail intersection and up past Ryan Street.
What will be happening?
The works taking place along Falls Road will include:
Formalised intersections and enhanced pedestrian connectivity and safety, including a formal raised zerbra crossing in the town CBD and median crossing for the Great Southern Rail Trail crossing;
Improved street lighting;
Installing existing and new street furniture, and public amenities;
Below ground storm water drainage system;
Concrete paving along shop fronts;
New garden beds; and
Parallel and angled parking as well as an accessible path from Falls Road through to the Foster Road bus stop.
The ANZAC cenotaph and garden bed will be preserved in their current state and made accessible on significant days such as ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day.
There are also plans to realign the “1884 Fish Creek 1984” garden bed approximately one meter to the right to fit in with the streetscape works.
When will the works be taking place?
Works are expected to commence during February 2025 and are expected to be completed by the end of the 2025/26 financial year.
