Carols by Glowlight was held on 23 December 2021 in Tanderra Park, Meeniyan.
It was organised by the combined churches of Meeniyan with the aim of bringing the community together to celebrate Christmas en masse for the first time since the pandemic.
More than 200 people attended the event, all gathering on chairs and blankets with a glowlight in hand.
During the event, music was provided by local artists and all attendees were encouraged to sing along to the Christmas carols. A Christmas story was narrated and plenty of sweet treats for the children to enjoy.
A Christmas message was delivered by the Venerable Graham Knott from the Anglican Church Leongatha, Meeniyan and Tarwin Lower.
Locals and visitors alike commented on how lovely the venue was and the spirit of the occasion.
The pandemic took many things from us, including a feeling of community, and this event helped locals and visitors feel more connected and a strong sense of togetherness that we have all missed.
