Loch Village Market - Korumburra

The Loch Village Market was the first project of the Lions Club of Strzelecki with the first of these being held on the second Sunday of November 1997.

Initially it was held at the Loch Memorial Reserve and is now held at the Lions Loch Railway Reserve and is still held on the second Sunday of the month between October and April.

To enter the Market, a gold coin donation is encouraged, with between 750 and 1,000 people regularly attending the market. Over 100 permanent stallholders from South Gippsland and further afield come along rain, hail or shine. However, this would not be possible without the Lions Club members and volunteers who contribute approximately 200 hours of work for each market event.

Over the past five years, more than $100,000 has been raised benefitting local schools and community services, Victorian Charities and Lions National and International charities.

Regardless of the growth of the market, it seems to have kept its friendly atmosphere for both stallholders and attendees.

Visitors to South Gippsland often use the Market as their first stop before exploring the rest of what we have to offer. It also strongly benefits local Loch businesses by helping spike the economy.
