Councillor Scott Rae

Scott was wanting to find a slower pace and open space, which he found in South Gippsland.

A chef by trade, Scott worked in hospitality for 20 years before a change of career into complex technology sales, solution delivery and account management. This eclectic experience has given Scott a wide range of skills that have served him well throughout his life.

Now a beef, sheep and timber farmer he has his own little oasis in the hills above Foster.

A day in the life of Scott includes feeding his cows, tending to the chooks and sheep, and making sure his dogs Annie and Blue Dog get their pats. He balances this with his Councillor duties that include meetings, talking to the community and briefings.

Scott was inspired to run for Council to give a voice for common sense, and to protect small business, our agriculture industry and the right to farm in South Gippsland. What you see is exactly what you get with Scott — maybe that's part of his common-sense approach.

Scott is a proud member of the South East Australian Transport Strategy, known as SEATS, representing the views of South Gippsland in regards to transport infrastructure including roads.

If Scott isn't doing his Councillor duties or running his farm, you'll find him on his property looking out at some of South Gippsland's most attractive sights including Wilsons Promontory and Corner Inlet.
