How to Use the FOGO service
The FOGO service is a great change to our waste services, but it is a change. With that comes a bit of a tweak to how we use our bins. Here's a bit of a summary:
- Your Green bin will now take food scraps and other organic material. It will be collected weekly.
- Your General Waste (red) bin will be collected fortnightly.
- Your Recycling (yellow) bin stays the same with both content and frequency.
In May and June, Council will be delivering a kitchen caddy and a roll of approved compostable liners, as well as education material. These caddies can be used in the kitchen or other appropriate place to collect food scraps. The contents of your caddy should be placed in your FOGO bin (untied).
Top Tip: Pop garden clippings in your FOGO bin first to avoid food scraps sticking to your bin and causing extra odours.
