Transfer Stations: Accepted Materials and Disposal Fees (from 1 July 2026)
Sort Your Load and Save
Loads that are sorted into recyclables, green waste and general waste are cheaper to dispose of than mixed loads.
Sorting your load makes it easier for staff to see what is in your load and accurately asses your load fee. Mixed loads are charged at general waste rates.
Customers are charged per load size, so if your trailer is not full, you'll only be charged for the space taken up by your waste.
Many items can be disposed of for free such as cardboard, batteries or metal, so you can reduce your costs and maximise resource recovery.
Tips:
- Remember to safely secure your load with a net, tie-down straps or ropes before heading to the Transfer Station to prevent items falling out and creating a hazard for other road users, or increase the risk of littering the roadside.
- Chat to the Transfer Station attendants if you have any questions. They will be happy to give you advice on how to sort your load to reduce your disposal costs.
