Community Leadership Program

What is the Community Leadership Program?

The Community Leadership Program (CLP) aims to equip participants with a set of skills that will enable them to effectively work with other people, strengthen their leadership capability, manage conflict, delegate and meet objectives. It is hoped participants will use the skills they gain through the program to positively influence and support the development of local communities in South Gippsland.

What is involved?
Participants will partake in an intensive nine session skills development program held between July and November 2021 in locations across South Gippsland. Sessions will be held on Saturdays and some weekday evenings. Participants must be prepared to attend all nine sessions. The program is funded by the South Gippsland Shire Council - there will be no fee for participants. Limited places are available.

How do I participate?
Applications will be accepted until 9.00am Wednesday 12 May 2021. The selection panel will review the applications and successful applicants will be notified by 30 June 2021The program commences in July 2021. You can apply online or hardcopy.

The Community Leadership Program – Further Learning Grants

The Community Leadership Program – Further Learning Grants assist emerging community leaders to access additional leadership/skills development programs. The grants open at the close of each Community Leadership Program intake.

A total allocation of $20,000 is available and individual participants may apply for up to $2,500.  Applications are competitive and will be assessed on the benefit to the individual and to the broader South Gippsland community.

The CLP – Further Learning Grants are open to participants of the Community Leadership Program. This program may include previous Leadership Programs that Council has facilitated (i.e. Changemakers).

  • Grant Applications Close Intake One - 16 April 2021
  • Intake One – successful applicants will be notified by 4 May 2021
