South Gippsland Shire Council is reviewing its Road Management Plan (RMP), which outlines how we manage and maintain our local road and associated road asset network to ensure it remains safe, accessible, and fit for purpose.
Our municipality includes over 2,100 kilometres of roads and 131 kilometres of footpaths. The Draft Road Management Plan defines Council’s responsibilities, sets maintenance standards, and outlines inspection timeframes, helping us manage risk and deliver a consistent, transparent approach to maintaining public infrastructure.
The Draft Road Management Plan must be reviewed following each Council election. This Draft Plan reflects a comprehensive internal review and incorporates updates aligned with current legislation and industry best practice.
