Green Waste Amnesty

Clean up your property with free green waste disposal at Council transfer stations.

South Gippsland Shire Council’s annual Green Waste Amnesty starts this Saturday, 1 November, giving residents the opportunity to dispose of green waste free of charge at any Council transfer station until 31 December.

The amnesty encourages property owners to prepare for the upcoming fire season by removing potential fire hazards such as branches, leaves, and garden clippings.

Some plant species and materials are not accepted under the amnesty due to composting limitations. These include invasive weeds like blackberry and ragwort, as well as items such as palm fronds and tree stumps.
