Congratulations Mayor Hersey and Deputy Mayor Snell

Councillor Snell, Hersey and CEO Allison Jones Published Monday, 24th November 2025

Our new Mayor and Deputy Mayor were elected at the November Council Meeting.

At the Council Meeting on Wednesday 19 November, Councillor Nathan Hersey was elected Mayor of South Gippsland Shire, and Councillor Brad Snell was elected Deputy Mayor. Both Councillors will serve in these roles for the next 12 months.

This marks Councillor Hersey’s second term as Mayor, having previously held the role from November 2022 to November 2023 on the former Council. It is Councillor Snell’s first term as Deputy Mayor.
