Her advocacy for South Gippsland's Coastline has been commended.
The Mary Rogers Award celebrates noable civic leadership by women councillors in Victoria.
Councillor Gilligan earned her nomination for championing the protection of South Gippsland’s precious coastline, successfully driving three motions through the Municipal Association of Victoria to urge the Victorian Government to action. Her advocacy has also helped secure $80,000 to explore an innovative solution to coastal storm surges using the Venus Bay saltmarsh.
While she didn’t take home the award this time, being nominated is a fantastic achievement and a testament to her impact.
