Council Road Hazards / Closures - update (16 June)

A number of roads have now been reopened but we would encourage all drivers to maintain a high level of caustion when travelling through South Gippsland. Although the roads are open, many may be still be impacted be water or tree debris. There will also be large tree branches on the side of roads, which - due to the sheer quantity of fallen trees - will likely take a number of weeks to clear. We appreciate everyone's patience.

The following road has been reopened:
Please be advised Nicholls road, Mardan has been opened to traffic. It is single lane at the intersection of Mayalls road where a slip has occurred.

The following roads remain closed:
  • McCartins Road, Turtons Creek (from Woorarra West Road)
  • Toora – Gunyah Road, Gunyah (from Mt Fatigue to Grand Ridge Road)
  • Turtons Creek Road, Turtons Creek (between East Tarwin Road and Anyos Road)

Berrys Creek, Nyora is closed due to bridge maintenance works. It is anticipated that the road will be reopened on 26 June 2021 (weather permitting).

Boundary Road, Foster is closed between Station Road and Pioneer Street for culvert replacement works. Due to underground service issues and weather, the road will be closed until end of June (conditions permitting). All appropriate signage will be erected for the closure to ensure road users are guided around the closure. Residents along Boundary Road will still have full access to their properties while the culvert replacement works take place. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Central Road, Turtons Creek is closed to traffic between property number 305 and 519 due to landslips. Local traffic will be accepted.
