Shop Local ~ Eat Local South Gipplsand

The Shop Local ~ Eat Local campaign aims to encourage local people to support local businesses through positive (and fun) messaging. The campaign commenced last year with advertising, posters, shop local decals and calico bags and is supported by the Victorian Government's Outdoor Activation Program.

This year we are expanding the messaging through the distribution of:
  • Calico Shop Local bags for distribution through local retailers (with a shop front)
  • Compostable Eat Local cups for use by local cafes and restaurants

Additionally, there will also be advertising to encourage residents to shop and eat local. This will include newspaper advertising, social media and video. We hope that consistent messaging - in a variety of formats - will resonate with people and encourage them to spend in their local townships which will keep money circulating in South Gippsland.

Compostable Cups

Coffee Cups

Eat Local compostable coffee cups are currently being distributed to South Gippsland Shire-based cafes/restaurants. If you have a cafe/restaurant and have not received an allocation of compostable cups and lids to use in your business, please CLICK HERE. Stocks are limited.

Calico Bags

Calico Bags

Shop Local calico bags (shown right) are available for distribution within South Gippsland Shire. The bags are free for customers. Our hope is that South Gippsland residents will use the bags when they shop in town - helping to keep the messaging going and serving as a regular reminder of the importance of shopping local. If you would like some bags to distribute through your business, please CLICK HERE. We will then arrange delivery to you.

Customers can also pick up a bag from Council reception in Leongatha (Mon - Fri between 9.00am - 4.00pm) or at the Prom Country Visitor Information Centre in Foster (daily between 10.00am - 4.00pm).
