Project Updates
Update 22/09/2025: Local artists Beth Arnold and Katie Stackhouse have been selected to co-develop the interactive experience for the This Parks Alive! project.
South Gippsland Shire Council is engaging Melbourne-based artist, creative entrepreneur and internationally recognised leader in the field of participative art for children, Jessica Wilson, on a project for South Gippsland Shire called This Park’s Alive!.
This Park’s Alive! is funded by a VicHealth Growing Healthy Communities Grant, proposing a groundbreaking participative art project for South Gippsland that will engage children from 8 to 11 years of age in new ways with their own local parks.
Jessica will be designing a program of participatory creative workshops, along with local artists, in local parks to reimagine these familiar spaces.
The outcomes of these workshops will in turn inform a digital guide for local and visiting children, to be accessed via a QR code to be installed in the parks at the end of the project.
