Maternal Child Health
KAS Appointments
Key Age and Stage Appointments, more commonly known as KAS Appointments, are free appointments carried out by our Maternal and Child Health Nurses. They are spaced across 10 milestone appointments from the time of your baby’s birth until three and a half years of age. Our Maternal and Child Health nurses are registered nurses and midwives with additional qualifications in child and family health.
Our service can help with:
- Feeding support: Breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and introducing solids.
- Recovery after birth: Guidance after birth and emotional wellbeing support.
- Sleep and Settling Program.
- Growth and development: Growth monitoring and milestone checks. Immunisations: Information and Council session details.
- Child safety and illness: Preventing injury and managing common illnesses. Family wellbeing: Support for parenting, health, and relationships.
- Health checks: Important developmental stages at 2 and 3.5 years.
- Referrals: Physiotherapy, speech, OT, hearing, vision, and specialist services.
- Immunisations: Information and Council Community Immunisation Session details.
- Family wellbeing: Support for parenting, health and relationships.
