Green waste amnesty now on!
Waste Greenwaste Council has declared a two month amnesty to support residents to clear their properties in preparation for the summer fire season. You can dispose of green waste free of charge from 1 November until 31 December. Some noxious weeds will not be accepted. Click here to find out more
 
The Coal Seam Gas issue
Shire Logo Colour In July 2012 Council clearly put forward the community's concerns in relation to Coal Seam Gas to the CSG industry and related governing bodies. Funding for Korumburra Integrated Children's Centre!
KICC Funding Deputy Premier Peter Ryan has announced a $1.6m State Government contribution towards the construction of the Korumburra Integrated Children’s Centre.
The Centre is planned to provide 120 new places for child care, kindergarten, out of school hours care, maternal & childhood services and specialist children’s services.
 
$1 million funding to resolve the Black Spur link!
Rail-Trail-family-cycling Deputy Premier Peter Ryan announced $1 million on Thursday to repair the three Black Spur bridges on the Great Southern Rail Trail. This will result in a seamless 69 km trail from Leongatha to Welshpool when completed, creating a highly marketable tourism asset for the region.
