Community Grants
Shire Map Council's 2015/2016 Community Grants Program is now open.
Funding of between $1,000 and $10,000 is available in a number of categories including Minor Projects, Events, Major Projects, Small Emergency and Planning Development Studies.
Round 1 applications close 31 August.
Mobile Black spot funding announced!
Mobile phone Better mobile phone reception is on its way, with the announcement of funding for new mobile phone towers at Arawata; Dumbalk; Dumbalk North; Kongwak; Mirboo; Mount Eccles; Outtrim; Sandy Point; Strzelecki; Trida and Waratah Bay. Specific locations are only indicative and the required approvals process and community consultation will follow.

Coal Seam Gas issues
CSG Seismic surveys are underway on SG geology and groundwater to better understand the potential impacts of developing onshore gas. (These take place on public roads and roadsides, not on private land.) To learn more about the issue Click here The Vic Govt has extended the moratorium on CSG exploration until further parliamentary enquiry - toward the end of the year.

Gippsland Small Business Festival
Small Business Festival Council is hosting a number of events during the Gippsland Small Business Festival in August.
The week kicks off with a special presentation by marketing and brand thought leader, Gary Bertwistle, on Wednesday 12 August in Leongatha.
Tickets cost $25 and can be booked online.
