Transfer Stations and Landfill

There are six Transfer Stations in South Gippsland (managed by Dasma Environmental).

Transfer stations provide drop off waste and recycling services for all residents and business operators and are designed to maximise resource recovery and reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill.

What Happens at a Transfer Station?

At a Transfer Station, materials are:

  • Sorted into dedicated areas for recycling, reuse and disposal.
  • Consolidated into larger loads.
  • Transported to specialist recycling facilities or approved disposal sites.

Transfer stations are often the main waste and recycling disposal option for those residing in rural locations.

Locations and Hours

All Transfer Stations and the Landfill are closed on Christmas Day and Good Friday.
