Maternal Child Health
Maternal and Child Health is a free health service to support all Victorian families from the birth of their child until 6 years of age.
Our Maternal and Child Health nurses are registered nurses and midwives, with additional qualifications in child and family health.
The service supports families with feeding, recovery after birth, sleep and settling, growth and development, immunisation information, child safety and illness, family wellbeing, developmental health checks, and early intervention.
Maternal and Child Health offer 10 Key Age and Stage Appointments.
The Maternal and Child Health Enhanced Program is available to families who may benefit from more support.
South Gippsland’s MCH service can support families with sleep and settling concerns.
First Time Parent Groups are offered to all first time parents across the Shire. We also offer other parenting programs periodically.
There are six Maternal Child Health Centres located across South Gippsland.
